I have a son and now want to try for a girl. Does anyone know any tips that have worked for them or someone that they’ve known? I heard of this book and never tried it. Id love to hear some stories about your experiences with gender selection methods.Thanks everyone.

Question: Questions About Your Baby Think It Over Experience?
I’m in Parenting at my high school, and I’m getting my Baby Think It Over on Monday. I’ll have it for three days: Monday after school, Tuesday all day (I don’t have school Tuesday), and Wednesday after school (please note that all three days I’ll have the baby at night). What I want to know is:
1) Does the baby have different cries for different needs? (Ex: hungry, diaper change, etc.)
2) Where did you take your baby? I’m thinking about Target for independent and the mall with my parents.
3) What book(s) did you read to your baby? How many?
4) Did you sing to your baby?
5) What did you sing to your baby?
6) How often did it wake you up at night?
7) Does it react to loud noises? Because I’ve got three dogs. Did you enjoy your experience? Why/why not? (I totally sound like a teacher right here)
9) What did you name your baby?
10) What were people’s reactions when they saw you with a baby?
11) Did you choose a baby of your ethnicity? (I’m white, but I want a Hispanic baby girl)
12) What gender was your baby?
And the ultimate question:
13) Any advice?
Please answer any or all of these questions. I know it’s a lot, but I want to be prepared.
Also: should I let my ten year old sister hold the baby? She told me she wants to, but I’m worried about her shaking it and its head snapping back.

1. The ones we had did not have a different cry for different needs. We had to figure out what it wanted.
2. I took mine to walmart and church and out to eat.
3. I didnt read mine books…
4. I didnt sing to it either..
5. I didnt.
6. I think it woke me up a few times for diaper changes and a few times to eat. By the time I returned the baby I was sleep walking from lack of sleep. Sometimes they cry just because they want to be held which is VERY frustrating.
7. Ours didnt react to loud noises.
8. It was fun at first. Then it got to be a pain. I love real babies but that thing is not like taking care of a real baby.
9. I named mine Aiden.
10. At first they kinda gave me a look like they were ashamed until they realized it was a doll. Then I got wierd looks.
11. I chose one of my ethnicity. But most in my class chose different.
12. I had a boy.
13. Just have fun with it. and dont get too frustrated a girl in my class got mad at hers and locked it in her trunk.

She should be fine holding it. OHH!! becareful when you walk and pick it up if its head moves the slightest bit wrong it says that you didnt support its head or that you shook it!

Question: When did you find out if your baby was a boy or a girl?
If you chose to find out the gender of your baby before it was born, how early were you able to find out? Did anyone’s doctor give them an incorrect gender? I’m so excited to know whether we’ll be having a boy or a girl, just wondering how early others found out!

i was able to find out in my 5th month. i was told a boy and thats exactly what i had. congrats!

Question: Why does everyone assume you can’t naturally choose your baby’s sex?
I’ve been doing a lot of research on natural gender selection. So I’m pretty learned on all the information that is out there. And I believe that there are things that can be done to help get the sex of baby you want. But how come whenever any one on here asks a question about it, everyone automatically shoots them down and says…it’s not possible, only the guy determines the sex, etc. Have these people done their own research to know for sure they are right? Or are they just repeating things they’ve heard and being closed minded?

yes i have done my research and i have three (wonderful) little girls and while i would not trade one second with them we did what we could and we still had girls.

Has anyone tried certain ‘tricks’ to determine what gender baby you want to have? I have read that there are certain times of the month, specific foods to eat, positions, etc that you can try if you want a boy or girl. Or even ways to increase your fertility to up the odds of having multiples. Has anyone ever tried this and been successful?? Just curious if anything works!!

There are tons of theories that claim to be successful but they consider a 50% success rate successful. Considering your odds are always 50/50 it’s not saying much. Genetic specialists in labs are the only way to even come remotely close to choosing your sex. It all depends on which sperm fertilizes your egg (an no, female sperm are not slower/faster. It’s a myth)
And the only way to TRY for multiples is to get AI or invitro.
The only way to naturally have multiples is to have your egg split into 2 or release 2 eggs. You have no control over this.
Most fertility specialists won’t help you if you are TRYING for multiples because carrying even twins increases the health risks to you and the babies substantially.

edit: google “determining gender” and you’ll get a bunch of theories on determining the gender of your baby. But, like I said, they are all just theories and it’s still always a 50/50 chance. But hey, it could be fun to try.

Question: Is it right to be able to choose the sex of your unborn baby?
Well, I have read a lot of ways in order to conceive your gender preference for your unborn child. How accurate are they? Is it true that if you have sex three to four days before ovulation you will conceive a girl and close to ovulation you will conceive a boy?

Shouldn’t we just accept what we have? I mean we are going to love our child no matter what.

there not all accurate at all there 50-50 i have excepted my son i didn’t care what he was all i care about is his health

If technology existed that enabled parents to choose the gender of their child, like a designer baby, would it be ethical to have a preference? I ask because all fathers want a son to raise and look after. You want to teach them how to play sports and mold them into a young man. But after your first child turns out to be a girl, you feel blessed but still a little disappointed. So you have second child in hopes of having a son but again you end up with a daughter.

You just give up having children after this because at this rate you are going to have 5 daughters and no sons. But if it was possible to select the gender of your unborn baby, you would already have a son. What are your thoughts on designer babies?

They ask due to the speed of the heartbeat, what they eat, how they carry, what they crave etc. Most people answer “your chances are 50/50″. There are also theories that claim to be backed up with scientific proof that the timing of when you have intercourse when you ovulate can increase your chances for a boy or a girl. I am not exactly sure on the specifics but it is said if you have sex a day or so before OR the day of, OR the day after to a couple of days after that you can up your chances of a girl or a boy. Supposedly this works because of how long female sperm survives and how long male sperm survives There are various articles and books written about this subject. I personally don’t know what to believe and will be happy with either gender. Do any of you think that it is possible to do this? That when you have sex during ovulation can predetermine or come close to choosing your babies gender? Just curious what other women think about this…..

You’re talking about the Shettles method, however you can not get pregnant if you have sex the day after you ovulate. There is some evidence it works, and some evidence the health and diet of the mother influences sex selection as well (healthier women have boys, women with poor diets more girls) but it’s not a huge difference. I don’t care, I want a girl, got enough boys.

Anyone I have advice on how to have baby boys, twins & triplets would be cool but ivlooked at alot of urban myths and some “dotcors” advice although i doubt theres really anyways you can choose but I was wondering has anyone tryed and actually was able to do it!! If not, and you got them by luck, what do you say aboutm?

Although scientists can determine the sex of a baby through IVF techniques, this is only legal in the UK in cases where there’s a hereditary condition that affects one sex – for instance the blood disorder haemophilia, which only occurs in boys.

If you’re happy to pay for IVF sex selection abroad, ask your doctor’s advice.
